OHP Businesses
Ohio Hi-Point Career Center provides hands-on opportunities in all of our programs for students to receive real-world work experience while in high school. From the house that our Construction Trades program builds each year to the cars that students in our Automotive Academy work on to the clinical experiences students in our Health Sciences Academy take part in every school year, OHP prepares students for the workforce and for college, a truly unique and advantageous educational experience!
Ohio Hi-Point also allows students to manage and operate several businesses that are open to the public, the comply with all state laws and provide our students with practical experience.
The following student-run businesses are open to the general public:
- Hi-Point Salon (Open from 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in a full-service Paul Mitchell salon and managed by students in our Cosmetology program.)
- Hi-Point Sloan Inn (Open from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays for lunch if no private parties or special events are scheduled. A full menu is available. Patrons are encouraged to call ahead to make sure the Inn is open. 937.599.3010 ext. 1356. The Inn is also available to host private parties, meetings and events. - The Hilliker YMCA operates a preschool/daycare on the campus of Ohio Hi-Point Career in Bellefontaine, which allows students in our Early Childhood Education program to gain practical experience working with children in the educational environment.
